Many people already know what a hydromassage box is. More and more people have already experienced the delights of hydromassage procedures. But buying a hydrobox also entails a number of risks. After all, no one wants to constantly change plumbing and be in a state of “eternal” repair. Especially since installing a hydromassage box is a rather expensive and troublesome procedure. And in appearance, all hydroboxes are very similar to each other. Of course, a number of manufacturers add a variety of functions to sell their products more expensively. But there are basic things that you need to pay special attention to.
Today we would like to focus on pallets for hydromassage boxes. After all, the pallet is the basis, the foundation of the hydrobox structure. It must not only withstand a person or several people in the hydrobox, but also well withstand the load of the walls of the entire hydromassage box structure. Often, buyers ask the same question - what is the thickness of the acrylic. But the thing is that the pallet of the hydromassage box consists of several layers. And each of them is quite important. Each of these layers performs its function and, accordingly, requirements are imposed on each of the layers regarding strength and reliability.
Pallet
A good pallet will not only last longer, but will also significantly increase the stability of the entire frame of the hydromassage box.
- So, the first layer is acrylic. Acrylic, as a material for plumbing fixtures, has already managed to prove itself on the good side. However, this is not surprising - it is warm (you will feel much more comfortable entering an acrylic tray than a steel or cast-iron tray), it is quiet (water falling on an acrylic tray will not make such noise as, for example, a steel tray), it is quite durable and easy to maintain. The minimum thickness of acrylic is 2.5 mm.
- The second layer is fiberglass. Acrylic pallets are glued with it, and fiberglass itself provides rigidity. An important point in gluing with fiberglass is the composite materials with which the fiberglass is coated. Most often, the manufacturer, in pursuit of cost optimization, makes everything cheaper. So this cheapening has affected pallets. Often, the manufacturer adds water to the glue with which the fiberglass is coated. Moreover, the consumer will not immediately be able to see such manipulations with the pallet. Problems will begin over time - after all, an incorrectly glued layer of fiberglass will begin to peel off over time.
But such a pallet itself can crack under the influence of weight. To avoid such problems, pallets are reinforced with boards or MDF panels. That is. boards or a solid panel are placed on the bottom between acrylic and fiberglass. Such reinforcement makes it possible to withstand large masses and significantly extend the service life of the hydromassage box.
If the pallet is reinforced with a solid MDF panel , it will not only better hold the weight load and behave more reliably, but the pallet will also be heavier, which will shift the center of gravity of the entire hydrobox frame lower and significantly increase the stability of the structure as a whole.
